What you should ask for, from anyone
Municipalities across the UAE tell customers to verify a pest control company before booking, and the checklist below is what they point people at. Ask any company for these. If a company hesitates to show you theirs, that is your answer.
- The company’s approval documentation — with the expiry date, because a permit that lapsed last year is not a permit
- The attending technician’s permit or pest control ID card — theirs, not a colleague’s, and not a company uniform
- Proof that the products being used are on the approved register
- Safety Data Sheets for every chemical applied in your property, and the re-entry time that goes with each
- A sample service report naming species, products, areas treated and dosage
- A stated Integrated Pest Management approach, not just a spray list
What we hold
A pest control work permit issued by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, which permits the company and permits our technicians individually. Ask us for it before you book and we will send it over WhatsApp, along with the Safety Data Sheet for anything we would apply.
Approvals in the UAE are issued per emirate and each register is separate, so ask us which emirates our permit covers rather than assuming — we would rather tell you plainly than have you find out later. Ask the same question of any company quoting you, because “municipality approved” on a website does not say which municipality.
How approval works, emirate by emirate
It is not one system, and the differences matter if you hold property or premises in more than one emirate.
- Dubai — Dubai Municipality regulates public health pest control through its Public Health Pest Control Section, issuing company permits, with technicians holding individual pest control ID cards.
- Abu Dhabi — the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre issues company work permits, with applications made through TAMM, and permits technicians individually after training in pesticide safety, application method and protective equipment. Products must come from its approved register.
- Sharjah — Sharjah City Municipality expects the technician who attends to be the person named on the permit, and the invoice to state the service provided, the pesticides used by name, and the name of the person who carried out the work.
- The northern emirates — Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah each run their own register.
A company approved in one emirate is not automatically approved in another, and nobody’s website tells you which one they hold unless they name it. That is the single most useful question you can ask, and it is worth asking before price.
Safety
We work to Integrated Pest Management principles and use only approved products. Before any treatment your technician tells you the re-entry time, and afterwards you receive the Safety Data Sheet for everything applied. If you have young children, pets, a pregnancy, or anyone in the property with a respiratory condition, tell us beforehand — it changes what we recommend, usually towards gel baiting and trapping rather than sprays.
